Q1. Can parts of the Apollo Ultrasonic system co-exist with other competitor components?
A. No, the Apollo Ultrasonic can only be paired with other Apollo products? <Back>
Q2. Can I connect the RMS to a digital phone line?
A. No, the RMS must be connected to a direct analogue line. The RMS modem is not suitable for digital phone system. It is important to clarify your phone situation before installation. <Back>
Q3. What kind of battery is used in the transmitter?
A. We use a long life 3V lithium battery, which has many benefits. Firstly, our battery last much longer than batteries supplied by competitors and once the battery does begin to die (after up to 10 years) it can be replaced by going to any store that sells batteries. They are inexpensive and unlike alkaline batteries, they do not lose their charge while they sit in a shop stockroom.
Unlike alkaline batteries the lithium battery will last for up to 10 years before it needs replacing. The model 3V-CR2430 is readily available from most supermarkets or from chemists or local stores. <Back>Q4. We have changed our phone system and now we must dial 9 to get an outside line. Will this effect the RMS System?
A. Yes, the automatic number to which the modem dials must have an additional number (9) placed in it. The modem number can be altered within the customer’s tank edit screen. Just remember you will need to update the server and then using the RMS instructions, reset the modem manually. <Back>
Q5. How far away can I have my transmitter from the modem?
A. You may place the transmitter up to 200 metres from the modem, line of sight. Please keep in mind that obstacles such as walls, re-enforced walls, metal objects or metal buildings will cut down that distance. <Back>
Q6. Why does the transmitter send an FM signal instead of AM?
A. The Apollo transmitter uses high quality FM signal because it is less prone to interference when compared to AM signal. Using FM, we avoid the need for external aerials to combat radio signal interference, so we have a clearer signal and more reliability. <Back>
Q7. I have a number of tanks piped together. Can the RMS be used in this situation?
A. Certainly, RMS allows for the addition of multiple piped tanks. When adding a new tank, all you must do is select a multiple within the tank management area. Select the number of tanks you require. It is a simple as that. <Back>
Q8. Is the RMS transmitter affected by rain?
A. The transmitter is closed in a weatherproof plastic casing that protects it from the elements and UV light. It remains more reliable than other brands.<Back>
Q9. When I am entering customer information I noticed an asterisks beside some of the headings. What do they mean?
A. The asterisk indicates that the customer field must be entered. This information is mandatory. <Back>
Q10. Where is the transmitter battery?
A. Having removed the transmitter from the tank, the transmitter battery is within the transmitters plastic casing. The battery can be removed by unscrewing the two screws from the bottom of the transmitter. Please see our instruction sheet for procedure details. Please note, if the transmitter seal is broken your warranty will be null and void. <Back>
Q11. When selecting a tank I am unable to find my specific tank in the drop down menu. What should I do?
A. Although the RMS displays all the current tanks from all Tank Manufacturers there is the possibility you have a tank not on the drop down menu. If the tank is not available use the CREATE A NEW TANK option and input the tank dimensions and capacity (if known) manually. This will allow you to use the RMS correctly and is very simple to complete. Remember to update the PC and server by pressing the update button. <Back>
